Pregnancy Update – Baby coming soon? December 12, 2006

Posted by Zara's Mama in myself, parenting, pregnancy.

My stomach is extremely huge, I have slightly more than 3 more weeks to go.

Resting is no longer possible. Laying on the right or left no longer feel comfortable. Sitting hurt my back. Standing tires my calves. I wake up middle of the night with eyes wide opened, trying hard to go back to sleep.

Baby is still active although with not much space for movement, we can see the tremors she creates when she moves, skin stretching before our eyes.

I’d sorted out all the necessities for the arrival of the baby :
1) ordered my confinement herbs and herbal wine from my Chinese Dr.
2) confirmed with friend’s mum who will be supplying me with home brewed rice wine.
3) signed up with Stemlife for baby’s cord blood banking
4) bought a few new pieces of clothing to welcome baby’s arrival (the rest will be wearing her jie-jie’s clothes)
5) checked that we have enough bottles/milk storage bag to store breast milk if I need to pump out
6) bought new Dr Brown bottles for her during occasions where I cannot breast feed directly
7) rearranged the furniture in the room to accommodate the cot (Daddy has yet to raise the cot and fixed its railing)

And yesterday, I’d even packed my bag for my hospital stay. So now, I’m just waiting for baby’s arrival.

~~~~~~~~~~~ . ~~~~~~~~~~~
On the other hand, Zara has been bugging us to bring her to the beach, to Morib, to Penang, to Cowboy Town. We had to explain to her I’m too big to be traveling now, and we have to wait for Mei-Mei’s (Chinese : Little sister) arrival before we can travel again.
So over the weekend, besides bringing her to the mall, we let her play in her wading pool. She was very very happy, since her last dip was actually in Phuket, quite a while back.
Ooh, I remember this waiting, waiting, waiting part. So full of suspense. Do you think she’ll be a Christmas baby? Hope you got your hospital stay arrangements sorted out. Me – I’m curious about her name! Merry Christmas!
2. chooi peng - December 12, 2006
Are you going to do the confinement yourself ?
I curios too, will she a Xmas baby! haa..
3. sesame - December 12, 2006
That’s fast! Another 3 weeks and another new chapter. So how? You gonna rename your blog?
4. mott - December 12, 2006
So exciting!!! Wait wait wait!!! You wish she was out, so you can sleep more comfortably..eh? Zara looks so cute with her armfloaties..in her wading pool!
5. Vien - December 12, 2006
Everyone is so excited for your little precious to arrive. 🙂 Try to get as much rest as possible. When are you gonna start your maternity leave?
6. L B - December 12, 2006
Perfect timing! These are exciting times!! Waaa, so fast hor? 9 months just went whoooosh, really! And great pictures of Zara!
7. blurblur - December 12, 2006
Ahhh..it’s the waiting game now..;)
Just curious, who’s doing the confinement for you?
Here’s to a smooth delivery and a healthy baby! Take good care of yourself ya! 🙂
8. may - December 12, 2006
3 weeks?! 3 weeks!! that’s so fast! just in time for CNY too, a “double happiness” for you and your family!
9. Shannon - December 12, 2006
wei wei, maybe i will see ur photo on the star front page, first baby for year 2007?? 😀
10. Nadia - December 12, 2006
I’m so excited for you!!! All those things you’ve mentioned sounds so familiar to me. Only I didn’t have to wait for the ‘right’ timelah. The date was booked beforehand since it was a caesarean. I think I would like to feel how it’s like to give birth au naturel. Hopefully the next baby won’t be a stubborn one and stay breech like his/her abanglah! Haha! Nways, good luck to u, yah?!!!
11. Zara's Mama - December 12, 2006
I don’t know if she’ll come during Christmas. I hope it’ll be after I’d eaten the Christmas turkey though. 😛
Chooi Peng,
I’ll be getting a confinement lady. With 2 kids, I guess it’s better to have one, so I’ll have some time with Zara.
Yes, I have to.. but don’t know when I’ll have the time to do it.
So much anxiety waiting for her arrival… not just the resting part; because I know, once she’s out, I won’t have the luxury to rest too.
Going to start my maternity during the Christmas break. Company shutting down anyway.
Yeah.. 9 months just went swooshed.. like the Nike swoosh. 😛
I hired a confinement lady.
Eh.. thanks for your wishes, btw, when are you coming on line again?
Yeah, I’ll finish my confinement before CNY.. so I can eat all the goodies!
Aiyo.. don’t want to be famous lar.. See my face in my blog only ok?
Planning for no. 2 already ah you?
12. huisia - December 12, 2006
I can’t wait to see your newborn now…time passes fast oo, still remember the first day you posted your pregnancy news and now baby almost going to pop up!
13. michelle - December 12, 2006
Has anyone refer you to Stemlife to get an offer? If not, email me.
3 weeks will passed very fast? Are you usually on time?
14. shoppingmum - December 12, 2006
I’m so excited to know that bb is coming very soon. You take good care ya?
BTW, have you prepared a gift for Zara on behalf of mei mei? I don’t know, but they said it helps to ease jealousy.
15. IMMomsDaughter - December 13, 2006
The countdown days always made me feel restless coz of the huge belly. Breathing also difficult, walking also lazy. Rest well & we are all excited for u too!
16. Gene Lim - December 13, 2006
3 more weeeks…. can’t wait.. i know is very uncomfortable for u..and somemore u have to take care of Zara too.. so what happens to Zara while u r at hospital later?
17. mom2ashley - December 13, 2006
18. Desperate Mummy - December 13, 2006
19. Sasha - December 13, 2006
21. Fannie - December 13, 2006
the wait is sure worth it…tho’ it can be pretty uncomfy when u are so big now…
Take good care ya!
22. Simple American - December 13, 2006
You poor dear. Gosh I remember my missus. Hope there is some way or position you can be comfortable.
Your little mermaid. Such a cutie.
23. Anonymous - December 13, 2006
I can imagine your restlessness and uncomfortableness. I remember when I reach to this stage, I just wish I could deliver..especially when it is so difficult to rest and sleep.
Like the rest, I am so excited.
You seem all prepared and well organized judging from your list.
WMD ( i seem to hv problem making comments the usual way)
24. Zara's Mama - December 13, 2006
Yeah.. it’s really fast.. before you know it.. going to be 2nd time mum already. You too, see your turn will also come soon.
I just posted a comment on your blog. I just realize I didn’t have your email address.
I was 3 days late with Zara.. but this one, we’ll induce if she doesn’t come before year end.
Yes I did prepare a gift for Zara and told her meimei is going to give her a gift. I asked if she wanted to get meimei something, and she said DON’T WANT. 😐
Yeah.. doing every thing seems to be more difficult now.
We still don’t know what will happen, but most likely ask hubby to stay at home with her, and then they can visit me together in the hospital on a daily basis.
Yeah.. waiting is nerve racking especially in this current condition.
Desperate mummy,
I’ve hired a confinement lady.
Yeah.. kan cheong betul.
Me too.. can’t wait to see if she will look like her jiejie (which has daddy’s look) or more like me.
Thanks. Yeah.. very uncomfortable now.. 😦
Simple American,
Thank you.. it’s going to be real tough finding a comfortable position at this stage.
25. Zara's Mama - December 13, 2006
Yeah.. I think blogger and beta blogger now are not compatible. 😦
I didn’t have the experiance the 1st round, and hubby had to go to the hypermart many rounds to get all the things we needed. This round.. of course we learnt fr experiance. 😛
26. Nadia - December 13, 2006
#2? Aiyo, nolah, not yet! Sheeeesshh! Tunggu another 3-4 years time lah. Otherwise, if both enters uni the same time, we’d both go bankrupt! =P
Yes, blogger and beta aren’t compatible for now. Couldn’t use “others” or “anon” either. Had to log in with my google ID. Sucks biggie time!
27. jazzmint - December 13, 2006
wahh all set to go liao..have u got the gift from baby to zara?
the name leh..finalise oredi ah?
28. Samm - December 13, 2006
Kan Cheong lehhhh.
29. cp1 - December 14, 2006
well prepared, i use dr. brown too .. and very happy wif it .. zara wait for mui mui okay .. then go swimming togeda geda
30. Anonymous - December 14, 2006
Good luck ZM!
By the way, what are DR Brown’s bottles?
31. Tracy - December 14, 2006
17/18 more days to go? Waiting moment is the always the most excited part hor? So u decided dat the Zara’s mui mui is going to be a year end (2006) baby?
32. Zara's Mama - December 14, 2006
Actually true huh, when they are too close together, the uni fee will kill us.. Mampus already for me.
Yeah, such a pain. Luckily for me, I can still use anonymous in bloggers beta.
Yeah, I bought a gift for Zara from baby. But haven’t had the time to wrap it and put in my hospital bag yet. Have to do it soon.
Kan cheong.. and uncomfortable.
Yeah! Dr. Brown de best!
You can do a search on Dr. Brown bottles on the web. It’s baby milk bottle, similar to that of Avent etc. However, Dr. Brown bottles have a spout in the centre that prevents air from being sucked by baby when drinking her/his milk. I’d used Dr. Brown for Zara, and she has no colic problem.
33. Allyfeel - December 14, 2006
Whao, sure very excited now la. Looks like u still hv quite a bit of things to do.
Poor thing, hope you rest well. Another 3 weeks, u’re gonna feel the breeze again.
34. babykhong - December 15, 2006
Good luck to you. Rest more ya before the D-Day. You store the cord blood for Zara as well? Do you get a list of what herbs to buy from your CL? Is Dr Brown bottles better than Avent?
As for me, I haven’t done most the things in your list except I’ve packed the bag for the hospital.
35. Twin - December 15, 2006
waiting is the most tiring … especially with a HUGE tummy … tummy and pelvic area heavy makes it so uncomfortable. Rest more .. can’t wait to see the new baby.
36. milkmaid - December 18, 2006
Oh – take good care of yourself….yes? And let us know of the good news…..Yes, it was quite bad for me in the last few weeks as well. Tummy too big to sleep on the left, right and back. I ended up sleeping with lotsa pillows behind my back, so it’s like half lying half sitting.
37. miche - December 19, 2006
hey zara’s mom, u got the name for the coming baby already?
38. domestic rat - December 19, 2006
I suppose anytime, you are going to disappear from blogosphere and get on with no.2. Let daddy guest blog then while you rest!
